Privacy Policy

At the Muncy Bank & Trust Company, our customers are our highest priority. So naturally we want to protect the personal and financial information you’ve entrusted with us. For this reason, we would like to explain some of our procedures which are intended to protect your privacy.  Please note that in order to protect your privacy,  we cannot accept communications from someone claiming to represent you, unless the party acting for you is your attorney, guardian, trustee, or is otherwise authorized by law to represent you.

Categories of Information That We Collect

We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:

  • Information we receive from you on applications and other forms.
  • Information that we receive from processing your transactions with us, as well as information that we receive from providing services to you.
  • Information about your transactions with nonaffiliated third parties such as information that we receive in response to requests we make to third parties about you or to confirm information that you have provided to us, particularly in the process of evaluating applications for loans. (A nonaffiliated third party is a company that is not owned or controlled by us)
  • Information from a consumer reporting agency. (commonly known as a credit bureau)

Categories of Information That We Disclose

We may disclose the following kinds of nonpublic information about you:

  • Information we receive from you on applications and other forms, such as your name and address, social security number, assets and income and the name of your employer. We may disclose this information for example, to verify information that you have provided us, to service providers in the closing of a loan, or to determine whether a loan that you have applied for is salable on the secondary market.
  • Information about your transactions with us, such as your account balance. We may disclose this information for example, to the operator of the interchange that processes our ATM and debit card transactions.
  • Information about transactions in your accounts with us. We may disclose this information, for example, to the companies that provide us automation services such as telephone and internet banking.

Categories of Third Parties To Whom We Disclose Information

We may disclose nonpublic personal information about you to the following types of third parties:

  • Nonaffiliated third parties that the bank uses to market our own financial products and services.
  • Transactions that are processed or serviced at the consumers request or authorization.
  • Information may be shared with nonaffiliated third parties to protect against fraud or unauthorized transactions.
  • Responses to judicial process as required by law.
  • Service providers to The Muncy Bank and Trust Company, such as the company which prints our checks and the companies that provide us automation services.
  • Parties involved in the closing of a loan that we make to you, such as appraisers, attorneys and title companies.
  • Other banks and financial institutions.
  • Non-financial companies, such as merchants who inquire whether you have funds on deposit sufficient to pay a check which you have written.
  • Another financial institution with which we have a joint marketing agreement for insurance, securities and other investment products or services.

We may also disclose nonpublic personal information about you to nonaffiliated third parties as permitted by law. We do not disclose nonpublic information about former customers to nonaffiliated third parties except as permitted by law.

Confidentiality and Security of Your Information

It is the policy of The Muncy Bank and Trust Company to establish procedures that ensure a customer’s financial information is accurate, current and complete. The Muncy Bank and Trust Company will respond to requests to correct inaccurate information in a timely manner. The Muncy Bank and Trust Company will limit employee access to personally identifiable to those with a business reason for knowing such information. We will educate our employees and directors so that they understand the importance of confidentiality and customer privacy. The Muncy Bank and Trust Company will take appropriate disciplinary measures to enforce employee privacy responsibilities. The Muncy Bank and Trust Company will maintain appropriate security standards and procedures regarding unauthorized access to customer information. The Bank’s automation systems have a complex set of passwords, user identifications, encryptions and terminal identifications that limits each employee access to information in the systems to that information that the employee required to properly carry out his or her job responsibility. In addition, The Muncy Bank and Trust Company has a complex system of "firewalls" surrounding its automation systems to ensure that access by unauthorized person is prevented.
