What's the difference between a Traditional & Roth IRA?
Although both Traditional and Roth IRAs are used to save for retirement, they differ when it comes to taxing these funds. Traditional IRA contributions are tax-deductible on both state and federal tax returns for the year you make the contribution. Once you are retired, withdrawals from your IRA account are taxed at ordinary income tax rates. On the other hand, Roth IRAs provide no tax breaks for contributions, but earnings and withdrawals are generally tax-free.
How is a money market account different from a traditional savings account?
Money market accounts and savings accounts are both designed to help you grow your savings and meet your financial goals. However, whereas a savings account traditionally has a fixed interest rate, our money market account offers tiered interest rates; the more funds you have in your account, the higher your interest rate will be! Money market accounts also typically have a higher minimum balance and less flexibility in terms of withdrawals per statement cycle. This is done to ensure that your money market account remains at a high balance so that you can maintain an interest rate that will allow your funds to grow.
